Job Objective

The Assistant Director of Finance – Casino supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial and accounting activities related to casino operations.

The role ensures accurate financial reporting, strict internal controls over cash-intensive gaming operations, and full compliance with Uruguayan gaming regulations, anti-money laundering requirements (PLAFT – Law 19.574) and internal corporate policies.

This position works closely with Casino Operations, Cage Management, Surveillance, and Compliance teams to ensure transparency, accuracy, and integrity of gaming financial information.

Responsibilities

• Supervise financial and accounting activities specific to casino operations including cage accounting, gaming revenue accounting, and casino audits.

• Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of casino revenues including table games, slot machines, and electronic gaming systems.

• Implement and maintain strict internal controls over casino cash handling, chips, tokens, and electronic gaming credits.

• Oversee daily revenue audits and ensure proper reconciliation between gaming systems, cage operations, and accounting records.

• Monitor compliance with Uruguayan gaming regulations and internal policies.

• Coordinate with Compliance and AML officers to ensure adherence to PLAFT regulations and suspicious transaction reporting requirements.

• Support the preparation of financial reports and management information related to casino performance.

• Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies between reported gaming revenues and system data.

• Ensure proper accounting treatment of promotional credits, player incentives, and loyalty program expenses.

• Monitor key casino performance indicators including drop, win, hold percentage, and gaming revenue trends.

• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for casino operations.

• Support treasury management related to casino cash flows and cage operations.

• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations for gaming-related accounts including chips inventory, cage balances, and gaming revenue accounts.

• Support internal and external audits including gaming regulatory audits.

• Coordinate with IT teams regarding casino management systems (CMS) and financial reporting tools.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining SOPs and financial procedures for casino accounting operations.

Requisitos

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.

• Mandatory experience in casino finance or gaming operations.

• Strong understanding of casino accounting practices and gaming revenue controls.

• Experience working with casino management systems and financial software.

• Knowledge of Uruguayan gaming regulatory framework is highly desirable.

• Fluency in Spanish required; English proficiency strongly preferred.

• Support the Director of Finance in strategic financial planning related to casino operations.

• Collaborate with Casino Operations, Surveillance, Compliance, and IT departments.

• Provide financial insight to casino management to support operational decision making.

• Assist in the implementation of financial systems and reporting tools.

• Support training and development of finance and casino audit staff.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move throughout the casino floor and property as required.

• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays when operational needs require.
